This Halloween toast recipe offers four creative designs using common ingredients. Start with a peanut butter and banana Frankenstein, followed by an avocado and seaweed Frankenstein. Next, create a mummy with hummus, cucumber, and olive slices. Finally, make a spider web toast with pizza sauce, cheese, and olives. Each design is easy to assemble and perfect for a spooky celebration.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Begin by toasting your bread slices and spreading a generous layer of peanut butter over each one.
  2. Take the banana and slice it lengthwise down the middle. Then, cut each half in half again to create four equal pieces.
  3. Arrange two of the banana pieces on the toast with the curved side facing up. Use two chocolate chips for eyes and two raisins to create a smiling mouth.
  4. Mash the avocado until smooth and spread it evenly over the second slice of toast.
  5. Toast the bread and spread the mashed avocado on it.
  6. Cut out hair and mouth shapes from the dried seaweed sheets. Slice the black olive into rings to serve as eyes.
  7. Place the seaweed cutouts and olive slices on the toast to complete the Frankenstein look. Feel free to get creative with the design!
  8. Toast the bread and spread the hummus on it.
  9. Use a vegetable peeler to create thin slices of cucumber. Cut each slice in half lengthwise to make strips.
  10. Lay the cucumber strips on the toast, overlapping some sections while leaving small gaps in others.
  11. Slice the black olive into rounds and place them on the toast to represent eyes.
  12. Toast the bread and spread the pizza sauce on it. You can also use tomato paste seasoned with oregano or dried herbs as a substitute.
  13. Cut the cheese into a web shape or small strips that you can arrange to form a web.
  14. Cut the olives in half. Use one half as the body and slice the other half to create four legs. Make two spiders per slice, for a total of four spiders.
  15. Arrange the cheese pieces on the toast to resemble a web. It does not need to be perfect, as the cheese will melt and blend together. Broil until the cheese is melted.
  16. Place the cheese spiders on top of the toast to complete the design.
