Our own summary of the original by Lena Abraham — the full post and photos live at delish.com.
These Halloweentown Marshmallow Spiders are a fun and easy treat to make with kids. Pretzel sticks form the legs, while candy eyes give them a friendly face. Dip them in white chocolate and attach everything together, then chill until firm. Serve with hot chocolate for a spooky snack.
Ingredients
Directions
- Prepare a small baking sheet by covering it with parchment paper.
- In a small bowl, heat the white chocolate in the microwave on low power for 30-second bursts until it becomes completely smooth and liquid. Stir in the coconut oil.
- Take eight pretzel sticks and dip them into the melted white chocolate. Arrange them on the prepared baking sheet so they look like spider legs—four on the left and four on the right, with their tips meeting in the center. Dip one flat side of a marshmallow into the white chocolate and press three candy eyes onto it in a row, using the chocolate as adhesive. Then dip the bottom of the marshmallow into the chocolate and place it onto the center where the pretzel ends meet, pressing gently to attach. Repeat for the remaining marshmallows and pretzels. Place the baking sheet in the freezer for 5 to 10 minutes until the chocolate hardens.
- Once firm, take the spiders out of the freezer. Serve them alongside hot chocolate if you like.
