From sexy to scary to smokey, these devil eye makeup tutorials use bold colors and dramatic lines to transform your gaze. Follow step-by-step instructions for arched brows, cat-eye extensions, and smudged black lids to create the perfect Halloween look.
Directions
- Fill in your brows with a dark brown or black eyebrow pencil, shaping a sharp arch and tapering the outer corners slightly outward.
- Apply a thin line of liquid black eyeliner along both your upper and lower lash lines.
- Cover your upper eyelids with red or black glitter eyeshadow; if unavailable, use stage makeup instead.
- Extend the shadow past the outer corners of your eyes to create an exaggerated cat-eye shape.
- Apply a pearl or gold eyeshadow over the remaining lid area, blending up to your brow bone.
- Apply several coats of mascara or wear false eyelashes—red mascara or lashes with red tips add a devilish touch.
- Using a black eyebrow pencil, draw an arched shape over each eyebrow, adding a pointed peak at the highest point.
- Shade the entire eye area—upper lid up to the brow and under the eye—with black color, blending well.
- Bring a dark line downward from the outer corners of your eyes about an inch; repeat at the inner corners if you like.
- Highlight just beneath your eyebrows using gold color.
- Instead of following your natural brow arch, draw a thin black line from the inner brows upward and slightly over the eyebrows, extending upward rather than downward.
- Color the entire eye area black, smudging thoroughly to achieve a smokey effect.
- Using a thin-tipped brush, apply jagged red or gold lines in a random pattern around the eye area.
