This guide walks you through transforming a faux pumpkin into a witch figure using spray paint, felt, and craft foam. You will shape a foil nose, paint the pumpkin green, add facial details, construct a pointed hat, and finish with a leaf garland for hair and neck coverage.

You'll need

Directions

  1. Position the artificial pumpkin on a small bowl, angling the stem toward one side. Roll a strip of aluminum foil into a cone and glue it to the stem to form a nose.
  2. Work outside or in a room with good airflow. Drape a plastic bag over the bowl, then spray the entire pumpkin with light green paint.
  3. Stick the eyeglasses decal just above the foil nose. With a black marker, sketch a grin and add pupils within the lenses.
  4. Set a salad plate on black craft foam and trace its outline with a pencil before cutting out the circle. Wrap the 6-inch foam cone in black felt, gluing it in place and trimming any extra material at the base. Glue the felted cone onto the brim of the circle. For the final detail, sandwich a tiny square of gold glitter paper behind a picture frame sticker and glue both to the hat.
  5. Pull a single leaf cluster from the middle of the artificial garland to leave a bare strip. Glue this leafless section to the top of the pumpkin head. Secure the hat on top and tuck the remaining leaves around the base to hide the bowl.
