Directions
- Start with an 8½-by-11-inch sheet of orange card stock. Fold it in half, then fold in half again. Unfold the second fold and cut along that line to produce two blank cards.
- Take one of the cards and, beginning at the creased edge, draw a pumpkin outline that extends past the edge so the card will open properly.
- Cut along the pumpkin shape, including through the crease, to make a sturdy template.
- Using black construction paper, cut a small triangle for an eye. Hold it against the template, trim if necessary, then trace the shape multiple times and cut out two eyes per invitation.
- On black paper, draw a triangle that is a bit smaller for the nose. Trace and cut out the required number of noses.
- On black paper, draw a mouth shape. Trace and cut out one mouth per invitation.
- On green paper, trace a small rectangle for the stem. Trace and cut out one stem per invitation.
- Place the pumpkin template onto a folded card, trace around it, and cut out the pumpkin shape for each invitation.
- Attach the eyes, nose, mouth, and stem to each card with glue and allow them to dry completely.
- On the inside of each card, write the party information: date, time, and address.
- Put the completed cards into envelopes and send them out.
