Create an oversized spiderweb using thick white yarn and hot glue. Braid three sets of yarn strands, arrange them in a star pattern, and connect them with circular strands every six inches. Hang your web and add spiders for a chilling Halloween display.

Directions

  1. Measure the desired width of your web and cut nine pieces of yarn, each one foot longer than that width. For a 5-foot web, cut nine 6-foot lengths. Tape three strands together at one end and braid them into one long braid. Repeat with the remaining strands to create three braids total. Arrange the braids in an intersecting pattern at the center with equal spacing, then secure the center with hot glue.
  2. With the center fixed, mark each braid 6 inches from the center. Continue marking every 6 inches along each braid until you reach the end. Connect the marks by cutting individual strands of yarn and attaching them to form concentric circles. Alternatively, use a single long yarn strand in a spiral pattern to achieve a similar look.
  3. After positioning the first layer of connecting strands, secure each one with hot glue. Keep the glued edges on the back side of the web, positioning them in the middle of each braid to hide the ends. Continue cutting and gluing strands at 6-inch intervals until the web is complete. If using one continuous strand, glue it at every 6-inch mark, then cut and secure the end with glue.
  4. Once the web is fully formed, hang it using hooks, nails, or outdoor tape. After securing the web, add spiders for extra flair—pair it with DIY giant spiders or use clip-on spiders or small spider toys for an easy decoration.
