This guide walks you through crafting a Yoda-themed pumpkin decoration using layered felt ears, painted or felt eyes, and a dressed pillow base. The project combines simple cutting, gluing, and drawing techniques to create a festive Halloween display that captures the iconic character's look.

You'll need

Directions

  1. Apply adhesive to both the light and dark green felt sheets, then press them together so the light green side faces outward.
  2. Use the provided ear templates to trace the two large ears onto the light green side of your double-layered felt.
  3. Carefully cut out the traced ear shapes.
  4. Trace the smaller ear shapes onto the dark green felt, cut them out, remove the backing, and adhere each small ear to the center of a large ear.
  5. Glue a popsicle stick to the dark green side of each large ear, ensuring approximately one inch of the stick remains exposed.
  6. Trace the eye shapes onto the pumpkin using a marker, then apply white acrylic paint in multiple thin layers, allowing each coat to dry completely before adding the next until the green is fully covered.
  7. Alternatively, trace the eye shapes onto the white felt, cut them out, remove the backing, and adhere them to the pumpkin surface about two inches apart.
  8. Press the large wiggly eyes onto the painted or felt eye shapes.
  9. Position the ears above the eyes on the pumpkin, mark the desired placement spots with a marker, and gently insert the exposed ends of the popsicle sticks into the pumpkin.
  10. Use a marker to draw Yoda's eyebrows, nose, mouth, mouth lines, and chin directly onto the pumpkin.
  11. Dress a pillow in the Yoda costume, then insert the top of the pillow (with the small baseball bat inside) into the hollowed-out pumpkin to create a scarecrow-like figure.
  12. Trace the three-fingered hand templates onto the dark green felt, cut them out, remove the backing, and glue each hand to the sleeves of the Yoda outfit.
  13. Enjoy your creation and remember to say, 'May the force be with you!'
