This craft uses a simple mixture of equal parts school glue and shaving foam to create puffy paint. After coloring it orange, you paint it onto a paper plate and decorate with a cut-out face, stem, and leaves. The puffy paint stays wet long enough to stick on the pieces.

You'll need

Directions

  1. Combine equal amounts of Elmer’s liquid school glue and shaving foam, keeping a 1:1 ratio. You can scale the batch as needed.
  2. Add a few drops of orange food coloring to the mixture, then stir. Keep adding coloring until you achieve your desired orange shade.
  3. Stir the mixture thoroughly until the shaving cream, glue, and food coloring are fully blended.
  4. Paint the puffy paint onto a paper plate, covering the entire surface.
  5. Cut a pumpkin face from black poster board or felt. If the puffy paint is still wet, press the face pieces directly onto the paint.
  6. Cut a stem from brown construction paper and leaves from green construction paper. If the paint is still wet, stick them on top of the painted pumpkin.
