The Halloween doughnut game is a fun, messy challenge where players eat ring-shaped doughnuts hanging from strings without using their hands. Set up an outdoor line with one doughnut per guest, tie them just above mouth level, and race to finish first. The winner is either the first to eat the entire doughnut or the one who eats the most if nobody finishes.

Directions

  1. Pick a spot for the game. Outdoor areas work best since doughnut bits and crumbs will drop as people bite. Find two trees or posts tall enough to tie a clothesline between them.
  2. String a sturdy line, like clothesline or twine, between the two supports. Position it a bit above the average guest's head height and pull it tight so it can hold several hanging doughnuts—aim for one doughnut per player.
  3. Cut pieces of twine or ribbon about two feet long. Tie one end of each to the overhead line, spacing them several feet apart. If you have more guests than space, attach extra strings to tree branches, railings, or other spots where doughnuts can dangle.
  4. Attach one classic ring-shaped doughnut to the free end of each string. Skip sprinkle-covered or powdered doughnuts—they make extra mess and may be a choking hazard. Adjust each doughnut's height so it's just above mouth level, and tie it securely without cutting through the dough.
  5. Have each player stand in front of a doughnut without touching it. On the count of three, everyone eats their doughnut with hands behind their back—only their face may touch it. The first to finish the whole doughnut without losing any to the ground wins. If everyone drops some, the person who ate the most wins.
