Our own summary of the original — the full post and photos live at mommymusings.com.
This Halloween graveyard cake starts with a devil's food cake frosted in orange and green. Kit Kat bars line the perimeter, and the top is decorated with candy tombstones, a Reese's path, and a chilling in the fridge. It's a fun, easy treat that looks as good as it tastes.
Ingredients
Directions
- Prepare the devil's food cake mix according to package instructions, then bake in an 8-inch round pan. Allow the cake to cool completely on parchment paper set over a wire rack.
- Frost the sides of the cake with orange icing and the top with green icing.
- Place Kit Kat bars around the perimeter of the cake, alternating between Halloween and Triple Chocolate varieties if desired.
- Carefully transfer the cake to a refrigerator rack and chill for 1 hour, or until the icing is firm and ready for decorating.
- Create a graveyard scene using additional Hershey candies: use Reese's Nutrageous bars to form a path, line the path with Reese's Pieces, and stand Hershey's Candy Corn bars and Hershey's Cookie 'n' Creme bars upright as tombstones. Write 'RIP' on the Cookie 'n' Creme bars with black candy gel.
- Keep the cake chilled until ready to serve.
