This baked brie features a homemade cranberry jam with maple and orange, enveloped in puff pastry and baked until golden. Serve warm with an extra drizzle of maple syrup for a festive and delicious starter.
Ingredients
Directions
- Combine cranberries, granulated sugar, maple syrup, orange zest, orange juice, cornstarch, and a large pinch of salt in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring frequently and smashing cranberries with a spoon. Cook until berries burst and the mixture thickens into a jam, 4 to 6 minutes. Remove from heat, stir in cinnamon, and let cool.
- On a lightly floured surface, roll the puff pastry into a 10-inch square. Transfer to a parchment-lined baking sheet. Place the brie wheel in the center and spoon the cooled cranberry jam on top. Fold each corner of the pastry over by about 1/2 inch, then lift the dough up and over the cheese, leaving small gaps between folds. Brush the pastry with beaten egg and sprinkle generously with turbinado sugar.
- Bake at 425°F until the pastry is light golden brown, 25 to 30 minutes, tenting with foil if it browns too quickly.
- Transfer the baked brie to a serving platter and drizzle with additional maple syrup.
