Our own summary of the original — the full post and photos live at thelittleblogofvegan.com.
These hand pies start with refrigerated pie crust filled with a spoonful of Nutella, then baked until golden. After cooling, you decorate them with white chocolate bandages to look like little mummies. Perfect for Halloween parties.
Ingredients
Directions
- Set your oven to 375°F (190°C) so it gets nice and hot.
- Unroll the pie crusts and slice them into either rounds or squares that are big enough to hold a heap of Nutella.
- Drop a spoonful of Nutella right in the middle of each piece of crust.
- Fold the dough over the filling to form a half-moon shape, then press the edges with a fork to seal them tight.
- Give the tops a good coat of beaten egg using a pastry brush.
- Pop them in the oven for 10 to 12 minutes, or until they're a lovely golden brown.
- Move them to a wire rack and let them cool all the way before decorating.
- Use white chocolate chips or a bit of white icing to draw mummy-style bandages on top.
