This pumpkin frosting blends butter, pumpkin puree, and pumpkin pie spice into a rich base. It's sweetened with powdered sugar and beaten until light and fluffy. Perfect for topping fall desserts like pumpkin cupcakes, chocolate cake, or brownies.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Put the unsalted butter (which should be at room temperature) into a large mixing bowl. Use an electric mixer to beat it for about 1 minute, until it becomes creamy and smooth.
  2. Add the pumpkin puree and pumpkin pie spice to the butter. Stir them together with a spatula until well combined.
  3. Gradually add the powdered sugar, one cup at a time. Stir with a spatula initially to prevent the sugar from flying around. After all the sugar is mixed in, switch to an electric mixer and beat for 1–2 minutes until the frosting is smooth and fluffy.
  4. Spread or pipe this frosting onto your favorite treats, such as pumpkin cupcakes, chocolate cake, vanilla cupcakes, or brownies.
