This salt painting project uses simple materials like glue, salt, and food coloring to make textured Halloween art. You trace a template, outline with glue, coat with salt, then add color drops that spread beautifully. Let it dry for a day or two before displaying your festive creations.

Directions
- Line a baking tray with aluminum foil to help contain any mess.
- Tape your template to a sunny window, then place your watercolour paper on top. Use the daylight to see through and trace the outlines onto your paper.
- Go over the traced lines with white glue, making sure the outlines are continuous.
- Immediately cover the wet glue with a thick layer of table salt so no glue is left exposed.
- Carefully tilt and turn the paper over a sink or trash can to remove the loose salt. Avoid shaking or tapping the paper to prevent disturbing the salt on the glue.
- Dip your brush into thinned food coloring or liquid watercolor, then gently touch it to the salt-coated glue lines. The salt will soak up the colour and spread it.
- Set the creation somewhere out of the way and leave it to dry completely, which can take one to two days.
