Create a unique Halloween decoration by covering the upper half of a pumpkin with silver-painted leaves. The leaves are sprayed shiny silver and arranged in overlapping rows, starting at the midpoint. The contrast of silver leaves against a black matte pumpkin creates an elegant, spooky look.
You'll need
Directions
- Remove the leaves from the branches and arrange them on a tarp with the lighter green side facing up. This orientation helps the leaves curve around the pumpkin when attached.
- Apply a layer of shiny silver spray paint to the leaves. To prevent them from blowing away, press the spray nozzle only halfway down so less air is released.
- Use black matte spray paint on the pumpkin, focusing only on the top half.
- Heat up the hot glue gun and place a small amount of glue on each leaf.
- Begin attaching the first row of leaves around the pumpkin at the midpoint.
- For the next row, position each leaf between two leaves of the row above, placing them about half an inch to an inch lower. Continue this process for additional rows.
