This recipe guides you through creating a festive cheeseball spider using cream cheese, a three-cheese blend, parmesan, mayonnaise, chives, red pepper flakes, and garlic powder. The mixture is shaped into a spider body, covered with halved black olives, and given legs made from skewers and olives. Thin olive rings with pimento centers complete the look as eyes.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheese blend, and parmesan until smooth. Stir in the mayonnaise, chopped chives, red pepper flakes, and garlic powder until the mixture is fully incorporated.
  2. Scoop the cheese mixture onto a serving platter and mold it into two connected spheres to form the spider's body. You can reserve some mixture for other treats if desired.
  3. Slice the black olives in half lengthwise. Press the olive halves onto the cheeseball spheres to cover the surface completely.
  4. Cut wooden skewers into leg-sized segments. Insert one end of a skewer into the joint where the head and abdomen meet, angling it outward. Thread olive halves onto the skewer, leaving the tip exposed. For the lower leg section, attach another skewer segment to the first using a single olive half as a connector. Continue building the legs around the body until the spider shape is complete.
  5. Cut thin slices from the olives to create ring shapes. Place a small piece of pimento in the center of each olive ring and press them onto the head portion to serve as the spider's eyes.
