These wicked witch finger pretzels are a spooky snack that's easy to make. Lime green candy melts coat pretzel rods, with sliced almonds as fingernails and cocoa powder for a grimy finish. Chill between layers for a crisp, creepy treat.
Ingredients
Directions
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Sort through the sliced almonds and pick out the ones that look most like fingernails; set them aside.
- Place the lime green candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl or jar.
- Microwave on full power for 60 seconds, then stir. Continue microwaving in 30-second bursts at 60% power, stirring after each, until the candy is fully melted and smooth. If needed, add a little shortening to thin the consistency.
- Using a spoon, coat a pretzel rod with the melted candy. Gently tap the spoon on the edge of the bowl to let excess drip off.
- Place the coated pretzel on the prepared baking sheet and press one almond onto the tip to form a fingernail.
- Refrigerate the pretzels until the candy is firm.
- Once hardened, use a spoon to add a thick, squiggly line of melted candy near the top of each pretzel (to create knuckle wrinkles). Return to the refrigerator to set.
- After the final layer is hard, use a small paint brush to lightly dust the pretzels with cocoa powder.
