These easy Halloween cupcakes start with a piped icing dome topped with cotton candy to mimic a web. A plastic spider is attached with a dab of frosting, creating a quick and fun decoration that's perfect for parties.
Ingredients
Directions
- Fill a piping bag fitted with a large round tip with icing. Starting about a quarter inch from the top edge, pipe icing onto the cupcake, squeezing until it covers about three-quarters of the surface. Then lift the bag while releasing pressure to create a rounded, pointy dome—this will be the base for the web.
- Pull off a chunk of cotton candy roughly 3 inches across. Gently press part of it into the icing so it stays attached, but don't push too hard or the icing may squish out. Leave some cotton candy sticking up and away from the frosting for a unique look.
- Put a tiny dab of frosting on the back of a plastic spider to act as glue.
- Press the spider gently onto the cotton candy so it looks like it's sitting on a web.
- Check each cupcake to make sure everything is secure and won't shift when moved.
- Repeat steps 1 through 5 for all 12 cupcakes.
