3 Halloween Table Settings & A Halloween Craft Fail
Three spooky Halloween table settings plus a craft fail that taught me a lesson about food safety.
Our own summary of the original — the full post and photos live at betweennapsontheporch.net.
These Halloween table settings use simple materials like white Dollar Tree salad plates and a crow stencil, but check paint food safety first—the author discovered her markers weren't safe for the plate's center. By painting only the rim and baking, you can still create a festive design.
You'll need
Directions
- Look for paint or paint markers that claim to be 'food safe' for decorating plates directly.
- Cut a crow stencil that fits well on a salad plate (use a stencil with a sheep and crow design).
- Ask the paint manufacturer if the product is safe for the plate's center—the author learned it wasn't safe for direct food contact.
- Paint the crow pattern only on the plate's rim (avoiding the center), then bake the plate following the paint brand's instructions to cure the design.
