Ingredients
Directions
- Mix up a box of white cake mix according to package directions, but add a few drops of orange or yellow food coloring to tint the batter before baking.
- Divide three cans of white vanilla frosting into three bowls. Tint one bowl orange, another yellow, and leave the third plain white.
- Spoon each frosting into its own piping bag fitted with a large closed star tip, which will give the frosting a lovely ruffled look when piped.
- Pipe a big swirl of orange buttercream on top of the cake, then a smaller swirl of yellow buttercream on top of that, and finish with a tiny white star right at the peak.
