These breadstick snakes are made from refrigerated pizza dough shaped into coiled ropes, with olive eyes and a sesame seed coating. Baked until golden, they make a spooky yet delicious appetizer for Halloween parties.
Ingredients
Directions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F with a rack in the center, and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Unroll the refrigerated thin pizza dough and use a pizza wheel or sharp knife to cut it lengthwise into eight equal strips. Fold each strip in half lengthwise and pinch the seam to form a rope.
- Coil each rope around a skewer, unpainted wooden chopstick, or metal straw, then place on the baking sheet. Press one end flat to shape the head and roll the other end into a point for the tail.
- Press two small olive triangles into each snake head to create eyes.
- Brush the snakes with olive oil and sprinkle with black and white sesame seeds.
- Bake for 12 to 18 minutes, until golden brown.
- Let cool slightly, then remove the skewers and serve.
