Pop a bag of microwave popcorn and mix in candy corn and peanuts. Melt caramel candies with cream, then pour over the popcorn mixture. Shape into balls with lightly wet hands, let set on wax paper, and store in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
Ingredients
Directions
- Prepare the microwave popcorn following the directions on the bag. Transfer the popped corn to a large bowl or strainer, discarding any unpopped kernels. Mix in the candy corn and salted peanuts.
- Remove the wrappers from the caramel candies and put them in a small saucepan together with the heavy cream. Heat over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the caramels are fully melted and the mixture is smooth.
- Drizzle the melted caramel over the popcorn mixture. Use a long spoon to toss everything together until the popcorn, candy corn, and peanuts are evenly coated with caramel.
- Lightly moisten your hands to keep the caramel from sticking too much. Carefully (the caramel will be hot) take a handful of the mixture and form it into a ball. Place each ball on wax paper and continue until all the mixture is used (makes about 6 large popcorn balls). Let them sit on the wax paper until the caramel sets. If not eaten right away, keep in an airtight container for 3 to 5 days.
