This recipe combines buttery popcorn with candy corn and salted peanuts, all held together with a homemade caramel coating. After shaping the mixture into balls, let them set until firm. They're perfect for Halloween parties and can be stored for several days.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Cook the bag of microwave popcorn as directed on the package. Transfer it to a large bowl or a strainer and pick out any unpopped kernels. Then stir in the candy corn and salted peanuts.
  2. Unwrap the caramel candies and put them in a small saucepan along with the heavy cream. Warm over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the caramel is fully melted and smooth.
  3. Pour the melted caramel over the popcorn mixture. Use a long spoon to stir everything together until the popcorn, candy corn, and peanuts are evenly coated with caramel.
  4. Lightly wet your hands to keep the caramel from sticking too much. Carefully (the mixture will still be hot) grab a handful and press it into a ball. Set the ball on a sheet of wax paper. Repeat with the remaining mixture. Let the popcorn balls sit on the wax paper until the caramel hardens. You should get about 6 large balls. Store in an airtight container for 3 to 5 days if not eating immediately.
