Chocolate Candy Witch Cauldrons
Craft your own spooky witch cauldron filled with candy—perfect for Halloween treats!
Our own summary of the original by Angie — the full post and photos live at bigbearswife.com.
Create a chocolate cauldron using black candy melts and a measuring cup as a mold. Add a rusty finish with food coloring and pearl dust, then pipe on handles. Fill with brownies and green icing, and decorate with bone sprinkles and green candy pearls for a bewitching Halloween dessert.
Ingredients
Directions
- Melt the black candy melts following the instructions on the package.
- Spoon some of the melted candy into a 1-cup measuring cup (you can use any cup, but this shape works well to create a cauldron).
- Swirl the candy to coat the entire inside, then turn the cup upside down and tap out any excess back into the bowl.
- Set the measuring cup upright and place it in the freezer for 20 to 30 minutes, until the candy is fully hardened.
- Gently remove the candy cauldron from the measuring cup by loosening the edges.
- To create a rusty look, prepare orange and yellow food coloring (or mix red and yellow for orange) and mix each with a bit of white pearl luster dust to keep it from being too wet.
- Use a paper towel to dab the colored luster dust onto the sides of the cauldron, blotting to achieve a weathered effect.
- Pipe melted black candy melts onto the side of the cauldron to form a handle—pipe a circle for the loop and add a dot at the top for the attachment.
- Fill the cauldron with whatever treats you like.
- For this project, I used brownie pieces and green decorating icing as the filling.
- Top the filling with more green icing, then add bone sprinkles and green candy pearls to resemble a witch's brew.
