These edible chocolate cauldrons are made by shaping chocolate into mini pots, then adding a hole for filling. Inside, layers of chocolate and green-tinted vanilla pudding are topped with creepy candy eyes and bone sprinkles. Perfect for a Halloween party treat.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Use a spoon to place roughly 2 tablespoons of chocolate into every cauldron-shaped mold cavity.
  2. Evenly coat the inside of each cavity with chocolate, ensuring the layer is opaque and not translucent.
  3. If any areas appear too thin, supplement with additional chocolate.
  4. Chill the molds in the fridge for 10–15 minutes for semi-sweet chocolate, or in the freezer for the same duration if employing candy melts.
  5. After the chocolate is solid, take the molds out and invert them gently to release the chocolate shells.
  6. Position a baking sheet on a stove burner; heat for roughly 20 seconds on a gas stove or 40 seconds on an electric one.
  7. Place a halved chocolate cauldron onto the warmed sheet so its rim softens slightly.
  8. Join the two halves together, pressing firmly and holding for about 60 seconds until they adhere.
  9. Let the assembled cauldrons rest until the chocolate re-hardens.
  10. Grasp a round metal cookie cutter with metal tongs and heat it over a gas flame or candle for 5–10 seconds.
  11. Quickly place the hot cutter onto a cauldron to melt an opening in the top.
  12. Apply slight pressure to cut through completely, but be cautious to avoid breaking the shell.
  13. Lift off the cutter, clean it, and repeat the process for the remaining three cauldrons.
  14. Crush 1½ Halloween Oreo cookies into a chocolate pudding cup.
  15. Mix several drops of green food coloring into the vanilla pudding until evenly colored.
  16. Layer a portion of the green pudding over the chocolate pudding in the cup.
  17. Transfer some green pudding to a zip-top bag, snip a corner, and pipe drips down the sides of the chocolate cauldron.
  18. Top the green pudding with green sugar pearls, candy eyes, and bone sprinkles.
  19. Present your cauldrons and enjoy.
