Gather one large, one medium, and three small pumpkins to create an adorable owl decoration. Use toothpicks to attach halved pumpkins as eyes, slices for beak and ears, and mini halves as feet, then display a "HOO" pumpkin sign beside it.
You'll need
Directions
- Pick one big orange pumpkin for the owl's body, three small white or yellow pumpkins (or gourds) for the eyes, beak, ears, and feet, plus a medium orange pumpkin for a sign.
- Halve two small pumpkins with a sharp knife. Scoop out the insides using a tablespoon. The cut ends will form the owl's eyes.
- Stick two toothpicks into the front of the large pumpkin where you want the eyes. Gently press the bottom halves of the small pumpkins onto the toothpicks to attach them.
- From the third small pumpkin, cut three slices with a sharp knife. Remove seeds and flesh with a tablespoon.
- Insert toothpicks at the positions for ears, beak, and feet. Carefully push the pumpkin slices onto the toothpicks. Also pin the remaining halves of the small pumpkins to the bottom of the large pumpkin for feet.
- On the best side of the medium pumpkin, write "HOO" with a permanent marker. Place it next to your finished owl pumpkin.
