This DIY project guides you through arranging a gallery wall of Halloween-themed plates using Command Strips. Decorate plain plates with vinyl patterns, and craft a focal point with a framed glitter pumpkin. Tips on spacing, strip sizing, and adding creepy-cute accessories make this a fun, no-damage decor idea.

Directions
- Measure the wall space where you want the plate wall, then lay out the plates on the floor to match that area.
- Arrange the plates on the floor, moving them around until you find a grouping you like.
- Avoid making the spacing between plates too even; aim for a slightly random look.
- I started with a scrolly frame containing a pumpkin as the focal point, then added plates around it.
- For blank plates, I added vinyl patterns from Silhouette’s online store—one got a chandelier design.
- A couple of plates had birds; I considered covering them with vinyl crows for a spookier look, but I prefer a less dark style, so I left them. For a scarier wall, you could replace the birds with scarier elements.
- Attach Command Strips to the back of each plate. Most plates have a raised lip; place the strip on the highest part. Connect both strips with the velcro sides together, then press the set onto the wall so one strip sticks to the wall and the other to the plate.
- Let the Command Strips sit on the wall for one hour before hanging the plates. After that, press the plate onto the wall, engaging the velcro. Follow the instructions on the Command Strip package for best results.
- Once the plates are up, add accessories like the paper spiders I found at Target.
- For the frame, I bought a black one from Hobby Lobby. You can use their smartphone coupon for 40% off without printing.
- Remove the glass from the frame and line the back with spider web material, securing it with duct tape.
- Cut a Dollar Store pumpkin in half using a knife.
- Paint the pumpkin half with metallic silver paint, then sprinkle Martha Stewart silver glitter over it while the paint is still wet.
- Wrap a small black and white gingham ribbon around the pumpkin and tie it into a bow.
- Hot glue the pumpkin to the spider web material inside the frame to create a framed pumpkin decoration.
- Be sure to use appropriately sized Command Strips for each plate's weight. I tried hanging a heavy bowl, but the strips couldn't support it.
