This project guides you through creating a custom Halloween letter garland by cutting cardstock, attaching baker’s twine with hot glue, and mounting the finished piece with Command Banner Anchors for a damage-free display.

You'll need

Directions

  1. Trace or sketch your chosen letters onto the cardstock, then carefully cut them out with scissors. Freehanding the shapes can add a fun, spooky charm to your project.
  2. Apply a small dab of hot glue to the upper edge of each cutout letter.
  3. Lay the baker’s twine across the glue and press down gently to secure it. Double-check that the letters are arranged in the correct sequence before the adhesive sets.
  4. Peel away the blue protective film from the Command Banner Anchor and attach the adhesive strip to the back of the anchor.
  5. Clean the chosen wall area with rubbing alcohol and allow it to dry completely. Next, take off the black backing from the anchor’s adhesive, press the hook firmly against the wall, and maintain steady pressure for 30 seconds. Always adhere to the manufacturer’s guidelines on the packaging.
  6. Loop the loose ends of the twine around the installed hooks. The anchors are designed to grip the twine securely, so tying knots is unnecessary.
