DIY Pom-Pom Pumpkins
Turn plain pumpkins into a colorful craft with pom-poms in bright shades and different sizes.
Our own summary of the original — the full post and photos live at designimprovised.com.
This DIY transforms orange foam pumpkins into playful decorations by spray painting them white and then decorating with pom-poms. Create a clustered wave on one pumpkin, a ring of large pom-poms on another, and a polka-dot design using small pom-poms on a third. Use hot glue to attach the pom-poms in any pattern you like.

Directions
- Give your orange foam pumpkins a white coat by spray painting them—one can covers about three pumpkins. If you find white faux pumpkins already, you can skip this step.
- Choose an assortment of small and medium pom-poms in bright hues like pink, orange, yellow, light green, and blue. Attach them to the front of the pumpkin using a dab of hot glue on each pom-pom, clustering them to form a wave shape. Feel free to continue wrapping them all around the pumpkin if desired.
- For this pumpkin, use the largest pom-poms you have—I used 2-inch ones. Glue them in a ring around the center of the pumpkin, sticking with the same pink, orange, green, yellow, and blue palette to coordinate with the other pumpkins.
- Finally, create a polka-dot look using small 1/2-inch pom-poms. Randomly attach them around the pumpkin with hot glue, mixing colors evenly. Add as many or as few dots as you like.
