Create a custom Halloween door decoration using adhesive black vinyl. Cut your design with a Silhouette Cameo or by hand, then adhere it to your door. Use black paper to block extra light for a dramatic silhouette effect.

You'll need

Directions

  1. Use your Silhouette Cameo, scissors, or an X-acto knife to cut your chosen shape from adhesive black vinyl. If you plan to place the vinyl on the interior side of the door for weather protection, remember to mirror your design. For letters or numbers, cut them in reverse.
  2. After cutting, remove the backing from the vinyl silhouette and carefully press it onto your door or window.
  3. To block extra light around the design, measure and cut pieces of black paper to fit any gaps between the vinyl and the door or window edges. I used large-roll black bulletin board paper to cover the entire door so that light only comes through the spaces around Oogie Boogie’s head.
  4. Once all glass is covered with vinyl and black paper, you’re finished! Switch on the lights, go outside, and admire your Halloween door decoration.
