These Halloween mummy jalapeño poppers combine spicy peppers with creamy cheese, wrapped in crescent dough strips. Candy googly eyes give them a fun, festive look. They bake in just 15 minutes and are best served warm.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Set your oven to 400°F. Cover a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  2. Slice the jalapeños in half lengthwise. Carefully scoop out the seeds and ribs, leaving the stems attached if possible. Discard the seeds and ribs.
  3. In a small bowl, stir together the softened cream cheese, pepper jack cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  4. Fill each jalapeño half with the cheese mixture. Be careful not to overfill, as the cheese might leak out during baking.
  5. Unroll the crescent roll dough, keeping the triangles together, and pinch the perforations to seal. Cut the dough into thin strips about 1/4 to 1/2 inch wide. Wrap one or two strips around each pepper half, leaving an open area at the top for the eyes.
  6. Make an egg wash by whisking the beaten egg with about 1 tablespoon of water. Arrange the mummies on the baking sheet and lightly brush each one with the egg wash.
  7. Bake for roughly 15 minutes, until the mummies turn golden brown. Take them out of the oven and press candy googly eyes into the melted cheese.
  8. Serve right away and enjoy these fun Halloween treats!
