This Halloween brain dip uses a brain mold to create a spooky, realistic appetizer. Cream cheese and Boursin are blended, chilled overnight, then unmolded and topped with a thinned red pepper jelly that drips like blood. Serve with crackers for a creepy party hit.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. In a stand mixer, combine the cream cheese and Boursin cheese until smooth. If you like, stir in extra herbs or spices.
  2. Transfer the mixture into your brain mold. Press a sheet of plastic wrap directly onto the cheese surface—it's fine if the mold isn't completely full; the brain will still look great.
  3. Place the filled mold in the refrigerator and let it chill overnight so the dip becomes firm.
  4. The next morning, take the mold out and remove the plastic wrap. Flip the mold upside down onto a serving platter and let it sit for at least 10 minutes before trying to unmold. If you're using a silicone mold, you can peel it off easily.
  5. Allow the cheese brain to sit at room temperature for a few hours to thaw slightly.
  6. In a small bowl, combine 6 ounces of red pepper jelly with 2–3 tablespoons of water. Stir until the jelly thins just enough to drip over the brain—be careful not to make it too watery.
  7. Just before serving, insert a knife into the center of the brain. Serve with crackers and enjoy!
