These Halloween Candy Cupcakes start with a boxed chocolate cake mix, studded with chopped candy bars. A creamy peanut butter-vanilla frosting tops each cupcake, finished with a sprinkle of reserved candy. It's a fun and easy way to use up extra trick-or-treat sweets.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Cut the candy bars into small pieces, and reserve one-third of the chopped candy to use as a topping later.
  2. Prepare the chocolate cake batter according to the directions on the box.
  3. Fold the remaining chopped candy (the two-thirds portion) into the cake batter until evenly distributed.
  4. Divide the batter among cupcake liners and bake for the time and temperature specified on the cake mix box.
  5. While the cupcakes are in the oven, combine the peanut butter with the vanilla frosting and stir until smooth.
  6. After the cupcakes have cooled completely, spread the peanut butter frosting on top and sprinkle with the reserved candy pieces.
