Directions
- Place the Rice Chex cereal into a big bowl and set it aside for later.
- In a bowl safe for the microwave, melt the butter. Mix in the brown sugar and corn syrup. Heat on high for 60 seconds, then mix until the mixture is smooth.
- Put the vanilla extract and baking soda into the butter mixture. Stir thoroughly (expect it to foam up).
- Drizzle the butter mixture over the cereal and fold gently until every piece is covered.
- Microwave the coated cereal for 60 seconds, then stir. Do this again for another 60 seconds, then stir once more.
- Spread the mixture out on a baking sheet that has wax paper on it. While it is still warm, scatter the festive M&M's, candy corn, Halloween sprinkles, pretzels, and candy eyeballs over the top.
- Allow the treat to cool fully, then crack it into pieces and serve.
