This guide walks you through crafting a spooky cardboard house using basic craft supplies like black and white paper, scissors, glue, and markers. You will cut a large rear window, attach a door and roof, add white paper windows, and decorate the exterior with festive details before letting everything dry for display.

You'll need

Directions

  1. Start by grabbing your cardboard box and using scissors to slice a big rectangular opening on the rear panel.
  2. Next, shape a doorway from either a separate cardboard scrap or a sheet of black construction paper, then secure it to the front face with adhesive.
  3. Form a jagged, eerie roof silhouette using more black construction paper and fasten it securely to the upper edge of the box.
  4. Trim tiny squares from white paper to serve as glowing windows, then adhere them to the front surface of your structure.
  5. Bring your creation to life by drawing or painting spooky decorations such as cobwebs, bats, or pumpkins around the exterior.
  6. Allow all the glue and paint to fully cure before setting up your finished Halloween house for display.
