These Halloween Mummy Hand Pies feature a flaky pie crust filled with raspberry jam, then topped with melted marshmallow drizzled to look like mummy wrappings. Optional powdered sugar or candy eyes add the finishing touch. They're a fun and easy treat for your spooky celebration.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F.
  2. Roll out the pie crusts on a floured surface if they aren't already flattened.
  3. Using a cookie cutter, cut out as many shapes as possible. You'll need an even number for tops and bottoms.
  4. Arrange half of the cutouts on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet.
  5. Spoon a small amount of jam in the center of each cutout, leaving a border around the edges.
  6. Place the remaining cutouts on top and press the edges together with a fork to seal.
  7. Brush the tops with beaten egg for a golden finish.
  8. Bake for 10 minutes, or until they turn golden brown.
  9. Remove from the oven and let cool on a wire rack.
  10. In a microwave-safe bowl, heat the marshmallows in 15-20 second intervals, stirring after each, until completely melted and smooth.
  11. Let the melted marshmallows cool slightly so they thicken enough to drizzle without running too much.
  12. Drizzle the marshmallow over the cooled pies using a spoon or piping bag to create a mummy wrap effect. Optionally, add small dots of melted chocolate or candy pieces for eyes.
  13. Dust with powdered sugar or add edible eyes if desired (both optional).
