Turn glitter skeletons into custom trophies by fixing their pose, painting bases black with red splatters, and nailing them on. Make category sashes with blood font text on black ribbon. Wrap prizes in silver paper with red paint splatters and red ribbon.

You'll need

Directions

  1. Purchase glitter skeletons from a store like Walmart. Use hot glue to secure the arms and legs in a trophy-like pose.
  2. Buy wooden bases from a craft store like Michaels for $0.99 each, applying a 20% off coupon if available.
  3. Spray paint the bases black, then splatter them with red spray paint to simulate blood.
  4. Attach each skeleton to its base by hammering nails through the feet into the wood, ensuring the nails are long enough to hold but not so long they poke through the bottom.
  5. Print category titles using a blood-themed font on paper, then cut out the text strips for sashes.
  6. Glue the text strips to sheer black ribbon using hot glue, then loop the ribbon through the skeleton's collarbone area and secure the end with a dot of hot glue.
  7. For prize wrapping, use inexpensive gift bags from the grocery store (around $0.89 each) and silver wrapping paper from a dollar store. Dip a paintbrush or stick in red paint and splatter it over the bags and paper; let dry.
  8. Finish each wrapped gift by tying a red ribbon around it.
