Gather three ribbons, jute twine, and scissors to make a festive garland. After preparing the ribbons by removing wire and halving wide ones, tie them onto a jute base using lark's head knots. Adjust the number of ribbon pieces to achieve your desired length.

You'll need

Directions

  1. Cut pieces of each ribbon style to your preferred length. The quantity you'll need depends on how long you want the garland to be.
  2. If any ribbon edges contain wire, gently pull it out and discard. This lets the ribbon drape naturally, resembling fabric.
  3. For wider ribbons, cut them lengthwise in half so they hang better.
  4. Cut a long piece of jute twine to serve as the base of your garland.
  5. Attach each ribbon to the jute using a lark's head knot: fold the ribbon in half, place the folded end under the jute, bring both tails up and through the loop, then pull tight. Repeat until the garland reaches your desired fullness and length.
