This spooky salad features baked mozzarella shaped into tiny skulls, nestled among mixed greens, cherry tomatoes, and basil. A drizzle of balsamic glaze and flaky salt elevates the flavor. It's a fun, festive dish that comes together quickly.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F. Place each mozzarella ball into a skull-shaped mold (you can lightly grease the molds with olive oil, but the cheese tends to pop out easily even without). Bake for roughly 6 minutes until the cheese is soft but not fully melted. Remove from the oven and immediately press the cheese into all the crevices using the back of a spoon. Refrigerate the molds for 10 to 15 minutes to let the cheese cool and set. Then take them out of the fridge and gently pop out the mozzarella skulls. Use them right away or store in the fridge until you're ready to serve.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, toss the mixed salad greens with a drizzle of olive oil and a squeeze of lemon juice if you like. Add sliced cherry tomatoes, the mozzarella skulls, and thinly sliced fresh basil. Finish with another drizzle of olive oil, some balsamic glaze, flaky sea salt, and freshly cracked black pepper. Serve immediately and enjoy your spooky salad!
