How to Make a Halloween Cupcake Tree

This Halloween cupcake tree is a fun and eye-catching dessert display. Frost 24 cupcakes with vibrant orange buttercream, decorate with an assortment of tall and low candies, and arrange them on a spiderweb-wrapped stand. You can plan the candy heights in advance or decorate one cupcake at a time for easier adjustment.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Drape the cupcake tree stand with a spiderweb and put it aside for now.
  2. Get your cupcake wrappers ready and set them aside.
  3. Fit a pastry bag with a 4B star tip.
  4. Fill the bag with orange frosting.
  5. Pipe three swirls of frosting onto each cupcake without overdoing it.
  6. Put each frosted cupcake into a wrapper.
  7. Add candy decorations to the cupcakes. Use taller items like pixie sticks and dumdum pops for height, and lower items like gummy snacks and candy corn for filling. Candies can stay in their wrappers or be removed, but leave malted balls and chocolate wrapped.
  8. Decide whether to decorate all cupcakes before placing them on the stand, or one by one. If doing all at once, count the cupcakes per row and vary the candy heights: tallest on the bottom row, gradually shorter toward the top, with one very tall piece at the peak. If decorating one at a time, you can see what height is needed next. The cupcakes don't have to match perfectly.
  9. The sample tree was decorated all at once, but if this is your first time, try the one-by-one method for easier height balancing.
