Directions
- Slice the packing or craft paper into strips that are three inches wide.
- Take three of these paper strips and twist them together, then secure the joined ends with hot glue.
- Braid the twisted paper strands tightly and apply hot glue to the loose ends to keep them from unraveling.
- Position your braid at the base of the orange plastic pumpkin and attach it securely using the hot glue gun.
- Place the next paper braid directly over the previous one, ensuring the ends overlap, and glue it in place.
- Keep adding braids in this overlapping pattern, working your way up the pumpkin until you reach the existing black handle. Trim the final braid to the desired length and glue the end down.
- For the top rim, create a narrower braid using two-inch wide paper strips and attach it around the edge with hot glue.
- Cut six lengths of black jute twine and glue their ends together to form a loop. Attach this loop to the exterior of the pumpkin's handle. Next, take the two center strands and glue them across the top of the handle, then crisscross the outer strands over each other and secure their ends with glue.
- Design a jack-o-lantern face on cardstock to create a template. Once you are happy with the size and shape, trace the design onto the back of the faux leather. Cut out the traced shapes and adhere them to the front of the basket using hot glue.
