Create adorable mini monster cheese balls by combining cream cheese, sharp cheddar, and bacon, then rolling the mixture in shredded cheddar. Add personality with pretzel stick horns, cheese slice eyes, and olive slice mouths using a reserved portion of the mixture as glue for a fun, festive Halloween snack.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded sharp cheddar, and finely chopped bacon until the mixture is smooth and uniform.
  2. Pour the remaining 8 ounces of shredded cheddar into a separate shallow dish to create your coating station.
  3. Using a tablespoon, scoop a portion of the cheese mixture and roll it into a ball before dropping it into the shredded cheese.
  4. Gently toss the ball in the cheese, pressing the shreds onto the surface until it is completely covered.
  5. Continue this process until only about a tablespoon of the mixture is left; reserve this small amount to act as an adhesive later.
  6. Cut circular shapes from the white cheese slices with a small round cutter, then use the black food marker to draw pupils on each circle.
  7. Snap the pretzel sticks in half and insert one to three pieces into the top of each cheese ball to resemble horns or spikes.
  8. Apply a dab of the reserved cheese mixture to the back of the cheese eyes and press them onto the balls near the pretzel sticks.
  9. Cut tiny mouth shapes from the black olive slices using the same round cutter.
  10. Secure the olive mouths to the cheese balls with a small amount of the reserved filling.
  11. Transfer the finished monsters to a platter and serve them to your party guests.
