Mummy Cake Pop: Halloween Recipe

These mummy cake pops are a fun Halloween dessert made from chocolate cake and frosting, shaped into 1-inch balls on sticks. They are dipped in white candy, decorated with candy eyeballs, and topped with mummy bandage lines. Perfect for parties or trick-or-treat treats.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Bake the cake mix as directed on the box, then allow it to cool fully.
  2. Break the cooled cake into very fine crumbs in a mixing bowl. Mix in the frosting until the mixture becomes a dough-like texture.
  3. Form the dough into 1-inch spheres and set them on a baking sheet lined with parchment. Push a lollipop stick into each sphere. Place the sheet in the freezer for a minimum of 30 minutes.
  4. Follow the package instructions to melt the white candy melts; if the consistency is too thick, mix in 1 tablespoon of coconut oil or shortening.
  5. Submerge each frozen cake pop in the melted candy, then gently shake off any extra coating. While the coating is still wet, press two candy eyeballs onto the pop. Set the pops upright to harden.
  6. After the coating has set, use either a small piping bag or a toothpick to create mummy wrap lines using melted white candy or black icing. Allow the decorations to fully set before serving.
