Pumpkin Decorating Idea for Fall

This decorating idea transforms a plain pumpkin into a charming fall accent. After basecoating with chalk paint, you'll sketch “FALL” and then use silver thumbtacks to trace the letters. Finally, hand-paint “it’s y’all” above and below for a playful greeting.

- Use the flat brush to apply an even coat of Cascade chalk paint over the entire pumpkin surface. Let it dry completely before deciding if a second coat is needed.
- Lightly sketch the letters F, A, L, and L onto the painted pumpkin with a pencil. Then press silver thumbtacks into the pumpkin along the pencil lines to create a dotted outline.
- With the liner brush and Monarch paint, carefully write “it’s” above the thumbtack letters and “y’all” below them. Let the paint dry fully.
