Transform a carved pumpkin into a playful putting hole by designing a wide mouth for ball entry. After carving and smoothing the lip, set up a backstop for misses and add a glow-in-the-dark candle for nighttime fun.
Directions
- Draw a Jack-o'-lantern face on your pumpkin, making sure the mouth extends all the way down to the bottom edge.
- Using an X-acto knife, carefully cut along the lines to carve out the face.
- Once the mouth is removed, smooth out the bottom lip so it's even and allows a golf ball to roll in easily.
- Optional: For younger children, attach a piece of red felt inside the mouth as a 'tongue' to help guide the ball.
- Position a backboard, wall, or curb behind the pumpkin to stop any balls that miss the target.
- Optional: For evening play, secure a flameless candle to the top of the pumpkin using poster putty.
