Directions
- Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) and place paper liners in a cupcake pan.
- Use a large bowl to beat the butter and sugar together until the mixture is light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each, then mix in the vanilla extract.
- In another container, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Gradually incorporate this dry mixture into the creamed butter and sugar, alternating with the milk.
- Pour the batter into each liner until they are about two-thirds full. Bake for 18 to 20 minutes, then let them cool completely.
- Once cooled, top with black icing and create spider decorations or web designs using fondant.
