These spooky spider cupcakes start with a classic chocolate base, baked to perfection. After cooling, they're topped with rich black icing and adorned with fondant spiders or intricate web patterns. A delightful and decorative dessert for any Halloween gathering.

Directions

  1. Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) and place paper liners in a cupcake pan.
  2. Use a large bowl to beat the butter and sugar together until the mixture is light and fluffy.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each, then mix in the vanilla extract.
  4. In another container, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Gradually incorporate this dry mixture into the creamed butter and sugar, alternating with the milk.
  5. Pour the batter into each liner until they are about two-thirds full. Bake for 18 to 20 minutes, then let them cool completely.
  6. Once cooled, top with black icing and create spider decorations or web designs using fondant.
