These Spooky Spider Hot Dogs are a fun and easy Halloween treat. Crescent dough strips form the body while slits create eight little legs. After baking, a dot of ketchup gives each spider its eyes.
Ingredients
Directions
- Set your oven to 375°F (190°C) to preheat.
- Open the crescent dough and press together the perforated seams to create 4 rectangles. Slice each rectangle lengthwise so you end up with 8 long, narrow strips; put these aside.
- For each hot dog, cut a 2-inch slit through the center of one end. Then cut two more 2-inch slits on either side of the first slit, making the "legs" roughly equal thickness. Repeat on the other end of the hot dog. Do this for all 8 hot dogs.
- Wrap one crescent strip around the middle of each hot dog, then place the spider dogs on an ungreased baking sheet.
- Bake in the preheated oven until golden brown, about 11 minutes. Dip a chopstick in ketchup and dot on two "eyes" for each spider. Serve with remaining ketchup.
