Woodland Creature No-Carve Pumpkins
Turn pumpkins into cute woodland critters without any carving! Easy DIY using felt, paint, and patterns.

This guide shows how to make three no-carve pumpkin designs: a fox, a raccoon, and an owl. Each project uses painted or faux pumpkins, felt, cardstock, and simple patterns. Just download the patterns, cut out the shapes, and glue them on for a fun Halloween decoration.

- Collect an orange faux pumpkin, orange cardstock, a sharpie, off-white felt, scissors, and adhesive.
- Download the Fox Pumpkin Pattern from the link. If your pumpkin is larger, remember to scale up the pattern. Print it and cut out the pieces.
- Using the pattern, cut the felt and orange cardstock to shape the fox's tail, ears, and face.
- Attach the tail pieces together with adhesive.
- Use adhesive or a hot glue gun to fix the paper pieces onto the pumpkin as illustrated.
- Draw the fox's nose and eyes with a sharpie.
- Get a white paper cup, grey, black, and white cardstock, a sharpie, scissors, adhesive, grey craft paint, and a foam brush.
- Paint a white pumpkin with grey craft paint and let it dry fully.
- Download the Raccoon Pumpkin Pattern, print it, and cut out the pieces. Then cut black felt and grey cardstock using the pattern to form the raccoon's tail, ears, and face.
- Color black stripes on the raccoon's tail with a sharpie. Start attaching the paper and felt pieces to the pumpkin as pictured.
- Add the raccoon's nose and eyes with a sharpie.
- Collect an off-white pumpkin, turquoise craft paint, tan, off-white, and orange felt, a sharpie, scissors, and adhesive.
- Paint the off-white pumpkin with turquoise craft paint and let it dry completely.
- Download the Owl Pumpkin Pattern, print it, and cut out the felt pieces using the pattern.
- Attach the felt pieces to the pumpkin with adhesive as shown.
- Use a sharpie to add eyes and some feather details.
