This guide shows how to make three no-carve pumpkin designs: a fox, a raccoon, and an owl. Each project uses painted or faux pumpkins, felt, cardstock, and simple patterns. Just download the patterns, cut out the shapes, and glue them on for a fun Halloween decoration.

You'll need

Directions

  1. Collect an orange faux pumpkin, orange cardstock, a sharpie, off-white felt, scissors, and adhesive.
  2. Download the Fox Pumpkin Pattern from the link. If your pumpkin is larger, remember to scale up the pattern. Print it and cut out the pieces.
  3. Using the pattern, cut the felt and orange cardstock to shape the fox's tail, ears, and face.
  4. Attach the tail pieces together with adhesive.
  5. Use adhesive or a hot glue gun to fix the paper pieces onto the pumpkin as illustrated.
  6. Draw the fox's nose and eyes with a sharpie.
  7. Get a white paper cup, grey, black, and white cardstock, a sharpie, scissors, adhesive, grey craft paint, and a foam brush.
  8. Paint a white pumpkin with grey craft paint and let it dry fully.
  9. Download the Raccoon Pumpkin Pattern, print it, and cut out the pieces. Then cut black felt and grey cardstock using the pattern to form the raccoon's tail, ears, and face.
  10. Color black stripes on the raccoon's tail with a sharpie. Start attaching the paper and felt pieces to the pumpkin as pictured.
  11. Add the raccoon's nose and eyes with a sharpie.
  12. Collect an off-white pumpkin, turquoise craft paint, tan, off-white, and orange felt, a sharpie, scissors, and adhesive.
  13. Paint the off-white pumpkin with turquoise craft paint and let it dry completely.
  14. Download the Owl Pumpkin Pattern, print it, and cut out the felt pieces using the pattern.
  15. Attach the felt pieces to the pumpkin with adhesive as shown.
  16. Use a sharpie to add eyes and some feather details.
